 In over five years time from 2003 to 2008 some 3,983 hectares of denuded mountains have been planted/rehabilitated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources with tree seedlings of mahogany, narra and other dipterocarp species at different areas in Caraga Region. Together, we can make the mountains alive and green again for our children and their children's children, one step at a time. |
MALUNGGAY SEEDLINGS DISTRIBUTION Representing DENR Secretary Lito
Atienza DENR-13, Regional Executive Director Edilberto S. Buiser who leads the distribution of 20,000 malunggay seedlings during the 2009 Kalayaan Celebration and Job Fair Exhibit at Almont Resort, Butuan City on June 12, 2009. Leaflets on May Buhay sa Malunggay, Let us Plant a Tree are also handed out to encourage passers by to plant trees as part of the intensive information , education communication (IEC) drive of the agency.Other leaflets given are: How to plant Malunggay, where to plant it, proper spacing and how to maintain it. |
